The Loveland Frogmen

Despite a lack of concrete first-hand sources, the tale of the Loveland Frogmen has persisted through the ups and downs of cryptozoological interest over decades. The first sighting was in 1955, however I've seen some sources claim that this first sighting was only reported after the second sightings. I wasn't able to find any evidence to back the claim, but I was also unable to find the primary sources for the 1955 account, or any of the other accounts. So, rahter than doing what I'm usually inclined to and finding primary evidence, I'll be looking at the surviivng lore and beliefs in this article.

So, according to the lore (had to add a Supernatural reference), the first sighting in May of 1955 was witnessed by a man that I've seen listed as anything from a businessman to a line cook for a local diner. On his way home, he spotted a group of what seemed like three quasi-human frog-like beings standing in a circular formation. Supposedly the frogs (as we call them, for lack of a better word) had large baggy pants and tight shirts. Either way, one of the creatures held a sparking wand above his head as the businessman quickly departed.

The next two sightings occured in 1972, shdn gso policmen, a week or two apart form each other, witnessed what seemed like a dead dog, or lizard on the road. (Honestly, I don't know how one could mix those two up) The dpg/lizard then abruptly lurched forward and over the railing. The different in the sightings, however, was that the second officer, Matthews, actually shot at the creatures, hitting it in the leg. Years later, Officer Matthews rescinded his story, stating that it was simply a lost pet iguana. Now, I'm not sure how one could mistake a large bipedal frog thing for a pet iguana, but it's likely that he backtracked due to pressure or scorn.

A year later, a farmer sighted four creatures, described similarly to the 1955 sighting, inspecting and moving through his fields.

Then came the sighting in 2016. A young man was out playing Pokemon Go when he saw a large frog with reflective eyes. After he pulled out hsi camera, the frog stood up, and he snapped a now famout photo. He himself stated that he is unsure if it was a Frogman or simply a large frog.

It is important to note that there is skepticism surrounding the 2016 sighting in particular, with many skeptics pointing out that it could easily be a staged hoax, with a wetsuit and two large flashlights. It also needs to be stated that the person who took the image has neither gone back on his story, nor changed any details.

Overall, there are many aspects to the story of the Loveland Frogmen. Maybe they're sophisticated, and wear pants and shirts. Or, perhaps they are simply mutated frogs. Maybe, they don't exist at all. Whatever you believe, we won't have any more information until someone else sights the infamous Loveland Frogmen.
